In the 1997 NBA Draft, he was selected by the Toronto Raptors. Vince Carter, his cousin, was drafted into the same two, and the two became quite the courtroom duo. He signed a $67.5 million contract with the Orlando Magic after leaving the Toronto Raptors. In the 2000-01 season, his outstanding play earned him his first All-NBA selection.
