Monty Williams, the Phoenix Suns’ head coach

Monty is the current head coach of the Phoenix Suns of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He began his NBA career as a coaching staff intern for the San Antonio Spurs. He also worked for the New Orleans Hornets, the Oklahoma City Thunders, and the Portland Trail Blazers.

Married to a partner who is a perfect match

In 1995, Monty married Ingrid Williams. During their college years, they first met at a freshman mixer at Notre Dame in 1989. He was drawn to her uniqueness, such as drinking water instead of beer at a party, as well as her fearless nature and strong faith.

Monty was initially trying to set her up with a friend, but instead, he fell in love with her. He knew when he was only 18 years old that he had found a partner who was a perfect fit for him and from whom he could develop himself.

Their friendship began when he went to talk to her after seeing her on his campus frequently. Her studious nature also aided in bringing them closer together. She frequently assisted him in his studies, allowing him to improve his grades and continue his education.

They began dating, and there were times when they didn’t have enough money to date. They did, however, enjoy their time at the dorm, where they ate pizza from the basement, snack bar, corn nuts, and soda from vending machines, and simply sat and talked.

The Tragic Accident

The tragic accident that separated parents happened on February 10, 2016, and it was a terrible day for the Williams family. When his mother and three sisters were returning home, a 52-year-old woman named Susannah Donaldson brutally hit her car while his mother was driving.

That woman and her dog died on the scene, while his sisters and mother were taken to hospitals. Unfortunately, that tragic accident separated his parents because his mother died as a result of serious injuries. Fortunately, nothing bad happened to his sisters, and they all survived.

In his funeral speech, the husband expressed his heartfelt feelings

Following Ingrid’s death, her husband delivered a moving speech at her funeral. In the seven-and-a-half-minute speech, he recalls the ups and downs of his life, including meeting the perfect loving wife like her, struggling days when doctors told him he would die if he played basketball and the death of his beloved wife.

Along with reading the bible quote, he mentioned that despite all of the difficult moments, God always loves him and gives him the strength he needs to overcome every painful moment, and he will do so again this time. Furthermore, he expressed his gratitude to everyone present, including his family and friends, for staying to pray for his family. Finally, he concluded his message by urging everyone to have a heart of forgiveness.

Marriage after wife’s death

After the death of his beloved wife, he married Lisa Keeth for the second time at the end of 2016. The NBA’s San Antonio Spurs currently employ her as a senior manager of Partnership Activation. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a marketing concentration.

She enjoyed sports and was a member of the Angelo State Women’s Volleyball team before being named American Marketing Association Holland’s Sportswomen of the Year in 2002.
