Who Is HunterGirl From American Idol?

Hunter Wolkonowski, an American Idol competitor, also goes by the “HunterGirl.” She auditioned for Season 20 of the program, which will be broadcast on ABC on February 27, 2022. Hunter is a Middle Tennessee State University Recording Industry (Music Business) student. HunterGirl is an American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP) member. The competitor is involved with two non-profit music therapy groups, Operation Song and Freedom Sings USA. According to her LinkedIn page, helping soldiers tell their experiences has been a lifelong ambition. She stated:

“I’ve never spent so much time working with soldiers and conveying their tales via music. We go to different parts of the nation to compose with veterans with the hopes of touching as many lives as possible via the power of song.”

Who is HunterGirl?

Hunter Wolkonowski, famous as “HunterGirl,” is a 23-year-old country singer/songwriter from Gruetli-Laager, Tennessee. She began performing in her grandfather’s church at three and started creating songs at nine. At eleven, the vocalist relocated to Winchester, Tennessee, with her family and began performing at the local church and participating in different singing contests. Hunter started playing in numerous places around the United States while she was a kid, and she won the 2014 Texaco Country Showdown at the age of fifteen.

After graduating high school, the singer relocated to Nashville and began performing in various venues around town with her characteristic Oviation guitar. At the same time, she was studying music business at Middle Tennessee State University. HunterGirl won many songwriting competitions in college, including Nash Next and the renowned Nashville Songwriter Association International two years in a row. She has opened for prominent musicians like Old Dominion, Kane Brown, Alan Jackson, and many more at the Kansas Country Stampede and other music events.

Hunter comes from a long line of military service and has a great deal of respect for veterans. She also collaborates with other music therapy groups, such as the Charlie and Hazel Daniels Veteran Center and Soldier’s Child, to help turn veteran tales into songs. HunterGirl discusses the abilities she gained while working at Lower Broadway on her LinkedIn page. She stated:

“While working in the wild atmosphere of Lower Broadway, I learned a lot of abilities. I’ve learned to be a sound engineer, guitarist, bassist, booking agent, social media marketer, singer, entertainer, human jukebox, and a shoulder for bachelorettes to weep on.”

In January, the singer announced her entrance on American Idol through a Facebook post. She also shared an official flyer for the concert with the caption:

“I’m going to the moon! Sort of… I’ll be a member of the 20th season of #AmericanIdol, premiering on ABC on February 27! The countdown to the debut begins RIGHT NOW.”

When she tweeted The View’s audition footage, with expert remarks on the program, the singer gave fans a preview of her experience on American Idol Season 20.
