Ciao House, Food Network’s next culinary competition, will transport ten up-and-coming chefs to Italy to compete on Sunday, April 16, 2023, at 9 p.m. ET. The candidates in the forthcoming culinary challenge will live and compete in a lovely Italian villa, navigating the competition as individuals and teams. The ultimate aim is to be the last chef standing, as one person is eliminated each week. Mahoney, a Mirate employee from Los Angeles, is set to compete in the forthcoming tournament.

Jess Mahoney, who works in Mirate’s Los Feliz kitchen, is one of the ten participants slated to participate in the culinary reality program. She began her career at Son of a Gun, a seafood specialty restaurant, where she prepared scallop crudo with gin and citrus in herb oil. The vegan skateboard butcher talked to LA Weekly about her presence in the next tournament. The Ciao House candidate said that Tuscany is similar to California in many respects. She noted the Italian city’s geography reminded her of California, as did the city’s passion for fresh food, which she had seen many times. Jess went on to say:
“We are on the cutting edge of knowing where our food comes from and how the animals were treated.” Italy prefers to keep things as close to home as possible.”
The Ciao House participant went on to say that she was aware of the program’s status as a reality show, but that it wasn’t “one of those look hot in a bikini.” As a result, she aims to amass a sizable social media following. She said that people in her business would watch the program because she wants to be true to herself rather than focusing just on winning. Jess compared herself to a sponge and said that she hopes to learn throughout her time on the program.
She went on to say that her favorite part of being on the Food Network program was meeting and working with so many different chefs. She went on to say that Americans associate Italian cuisine with “heavy bowls of carbs with hot tomato sauce on top.” However, the program is more than that since it displays a variety of Tuscan cuisine.
