Who Is Sir Lenny Henry From “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power”?

Sir Lenny Henry will play Sadoc Burrows, a Harfoot elder, in Amazon Studios’ forthcoming fantasy series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. Based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s works, the series is a spin-off of The Lord of the Rings film and The Hobbit trilogies. The Rings of Power is a prequel to the film series that takes place a thousand years before the events of The Hobbit. In Tolkien’s world, Sadoc Burrows is a Harfoot or a sort of hobbit. They are the most numerous hobbies, but also the shortest in height. In addition, they have darker skin than Fallohides and Stoors. The Harfoot community may also be seen whistling in the trailer. They reside in holes known as smials and keep contact with Dwarves.

In The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, Sir Lenny Henry will play the Harfoot elder, Sadoc Burrows. Henry was a popular stand-up comedian in the 1970s and 1980s, which led to his appearance on The Lenny Henry Show in 1984. Henry was born after his parents came to Britain from Jamaica. Henry began his career in comedy in 1975, when he featured in the talent competition New Faces. Lenny later appeared in The Fosters, the UK’s first comedy series with a mostly Black cast.

Henry co-founded the British Comic Relief charitable organization in 1985. Although Lenny has been in comedy programs, his cinematic debut came later. He made his cinematic debut in the 1987 picture Coast to Coast. In the 2004 film Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, he also played the Shrunken Head. Lenny will now feature in the next Tolkien world expansion. Although the Harfoots are Tolkien characters, the character of Sadoc Burrows was invented for the series, according to a fan website.

Henry discussed his acting career and the part with the Press Association news agency.

“So that was my goal: to be in situations where I could be in a good thing with other decent people. To me, the shift occurred in the previous 10 to 15 years, and I was always looking for something similar.”
