Impractical Jokers has kept us entertained for over a decade, but the newest news will put a grin on every fan’s face. Joe Gatto, one-fourth of the famous truTV series’ comedy ensemble, has announced his resignation for personal reasons. The program will return on April 2 with a special “supersized” episode that will premiere on TBS, TNT, and TruTV for the first time.

Joe is quitting Impractical Jokers for what reason?

Joe announced his retirement in a “more serious-than-usual” Instagram post on December 31. He claimed in the message that he will no longer be a member of Impractical Jokers. He said that he and his pals had committed a decade of their lives to develop this company and that he couldn’t be more proud of what they’d all done together. However, he was forced to withdraw owing to personal issues. Joe revealed that he and his wife Bessy had divorced and that he would take time away from work to concentrate on being the greatest father and co-parent to their two children.

He also commended his old pals Murr, Q, and Sal, who are all members of his comic company, The Tenderloins.

They set out on this journey together, and he wished them all the best in the future. Joe concluded by thanking fans for their support throughout the years.  Joe Gatto’s Instagram post about quitting Impractical Jokers received over a million likes and many comments, prompting Q, Sal, and Murr to respond.  His departure saddened fans, but they understood his choice to quit the program. His co-stars responded similarly, with the three posting a heartfelt joint statement on Instagram. Joe Gatto will continue to do solo projects and live events after leaving Impractical Jokers.
