Yoon Jeong Han Career, Professional Life

Jeonghan aspired to be a star in the entertainment industry as a child. He learned about K-pop groups and idols, hoping to steer his career in that direction. He began auditioning for a trainee position with an entertainment company at a young age and was successful, allowing him to begin training with Pledis Entertainment. NU’EST, Bumzu, and After School is among the popular K-pop acts that have come from the company.

He worked with Pledis for several years, honing his vocal and dance abilities. In 2013, he made his first public appearance on the platform UStream as part of an online show called “Seventeen TV.” He and the other 12 members of the band were introduced in the show, which featured their rehearsals leading up to performances.

After two years, it was decided that the group would make their official debut on MBC in the form of a one-hour special, making them the first K-pop act to make their debut on a major television network. They worked on the reality show “Seventeen Project: Big Debut Plan” prior to their debut.

Jeonghan was assigned to Seventeen’s vocal unit, joining members Woozi, DK, Seungkwan, and Joshua – other Seventeen units include the performance unit and the hip-hop unit. Only a few days after their big debut, the group released their first EP, “17 Carat,” which made waves internationally, especially in the United States.

Despite being in its first year, Billboard named them one of the best K-pop albums of the year.

More On Career

They then released their second EP, “Boys Be,” which performed even better than their first, earning them numerous awards, including Golden Disk Awards and Seoul Music Awards. They began touring in South Korea to celebrate their success, and in 2016, they worked on their first studio album, “Love & Letter,” which began to make an impact in Japan.

Not long after, they released their third EP, “Going Seventeen.” Taking advantage of their foundation being built in Japan, the group began performing in the country, attracting large crowds despite not having made an official debut in the country.

They then made their official debut in Japan with the mini-album “We Make You” before working on their fifth EP, “You Make My Day,” which went platinum, becoming their first platinum release.
